RFID tags are used in various applications: supply chain management, track and trace, inventory control, antitheft etc. The system has all the advantages of the barcode plus a lot of extras i.e. data capture without line of sight, multiple read and write possibilities etc. The tag is typically made on a flexible foil and can be used as a label together with readable printed information or moulded into plastic for better environmental sustainability. The RFID tags are produced at Cencorp by removal of excess material from metal-polymer laminate with etching. Di-electric printing and bridge connection by silver ink is optional, as well as slitting and converting.
